I don't know how you made the sound of dial up internet sound stylistically fitting. Good job and good luck in NGADM!

SkankyMojo responds:

Just about cutting it up right really. Thank you very much. <3

Well I guess I'm not moving forward in NGADM because this is in my bracket. Well done and good luck!

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Hey! Sorry to reply so late; it's been very hectic lately. Thank you so much for the well wishes! Your track is really cool too, I had a fun time listening to it :)
I look forward to hearing some more music from you :D

This fucks. Tasty sound design, mixing, and very unique composition.

Lunar-Sun responds:

Thank you so much!

unfortunately I couldn't cross the bar, making corporate music is not my forte!

Well done though everyone! I feel like selling my soul to capitalism already!

Charlmot responds:

Nothing beats capitalism!

TeffyD responds:

If you're not selling out you're not trying!

how do you even make a waveform look like that and still sound like music lol

notkeithXD839 responds:

It's actually two instruments (one from the original mod [Vs Bob], and the other the default wave form from LMMS but edited)

lobotomy tag is accurate, this wasn't pleasant to listen to. Mixing is muddy, sound choice is squishy, there's clipping, and it doesn't make sense harmonically or contrapuntally. That is to say it doesn't sound musical.

All is not lost however! My suggestions are to make musical lines with goals in mind (melody, countermelody, harmony, etc), give your sounds a little more headroom with a limiter, use effects like EQ, compression, and reverb to make the sounds more pleasant, and listen to music you like and learn things from it (think about what in the songs you enjoy).

Hmmm... Good review, but I do wonder how to edit such samples like this, because I haven't really used multiple composing softwares for a sample yet...

takes a while to get where it wants to go, the electric guitar is obvious MIDI, but other than that the composition and movement is nice, the ending is neat, the drums are tasty, and it feels like it has a goal in mind. Good stuff!

MattMG responds:

Thank you! :D

this track is chewy and tastes nice. Bass is a little hot IMO.

oh my god was that the lick at 0:51??

Acrellux responds:

Oh, I get it now! Haha glad you enjoyed

I'm a big fan of the mixing here! This track has some great forward (pun intended) motion to it. Keep it up :3

EVLanche responds:

Thank you! I'm a little insecure about my mixing and mastering so I'm glad you enjoyed it ^ ^
(Also, you're pun is appreciated XD)
