classic trance sound!
classic trance sound!
Crazy fast and energetic! I find it a little bit off that I can hear audible distortion in some of the quieter parts, I doubt that was intentional.
That is some gnarly sound design
well that was crunchy
A track this simple doesn't need much mixing other than levelling, and on that note, all this really needs to be effective is a touch more volume control, and I would suggest dynamic limiting. The sounds are all really cool and the bass is holding it down nicely.
I think the simplicity makes a song really easy to mix. I feel like this goes in a flash game from the earlier days of newgrounds haha
Compositionally this song isn't doing much but the drums are giving a nice atmosphere with that industrial/synth feel. Simple is easy to do right, so in that regard, good choice.
nutty!
Misc. Kit: "My Car" lmao
This sounds great and the guitar solo slaps.
I'm gonna criticize the static-ness of the energy throughout the song. I think having it go on at the same energy level for a long time depletes the interest after a while. The break at 3:48 or something similar should have happened earlier as well imo.
I'm being picky though this is genuinely really cool and I feel like I'm driving a neon, low-poly car through a videogame hah
Compositionally, I like the progression of this song a lot but I'm mostly going to complain about the distortion. IMO it's overdone and it's slamming your mix into a wall. A good mix of LIGHT distortion, compression, EQ, and whatnot are more than enough to make your track loud and huge, while also allowing you to control dynamics, transients, clarity, etc.
Also consider putting a reverb tail on the chopped synth stack to give it a little space and fit in the mix better. That's just a tasteful thing I would do, though.
You have very good ideas and compositional skills, give them room to breathe.
thank you for the advice !
I'll follow this in the future
just remember that I work on a shitty app (garageband) that doesn't even have (good) plugins in it but still.
i'll remember this !
thanks
I really like this, how it starts with a very cold, lonely mood and then switches to something that sounds more appreciative.
The loop you have is very pretty and the plucked string instruments are nice. I suggest you take care of your soundscape by means of intention; I feel like this might have been a little more upbeat than the idea you're trying to convey, or maybe not. Just a thought. :)
Compositionally, the track moves along well and does a good job of ebbing me in the direction that it wants to go.
ty! I'm glad you liked this track! I will try to take your recommendations into account in my next tracks <3
